Dinner in Portland

Sunday, July 6 - We checked into the Heathman Hotel a little after 9pm. This hotel is awesome. The really don't have a front desk - they just have concierages who help you from the time you walk into the door up to getting your bags in your room. Since we were hungry, our guy Thomas recommended a restaurant just behind the hotel called Southpark. We had a fantastic dinner. I had steelhead salmon on a bed of veggies with corn, peas and potatoes, and Sandy had a pasta with a pork and beef ragu. We also got a really tasty flight of Piedmont wines from Italy. Our server Jasmine was super nice; the restaurant has great ambience. Since we got there late, we were the last people in the dining room, but they were so relaxed and didn't make us feel like we needed to rush to get out. A perfect welcome to Portland.

A fun feature on the outside of the building of the restaurant is that it looks like a fish is going through the side of the building. It is also on the corner of Salmon Street. Very appropriate.
