In all of the guidebooks, that say how the Badlands just appear out of nowhere and have an ethereal quality. Well, it's true. It is 244,000 acres of moon-like landscape. Here's a video we took right is we entered Badlands National Park:Here is a second video that I took. Had to include it for a little bit of entertainment:
We ended up driving through the park at sunset, which made for some spectacular views as the landscape changed colors as the sun went down.

I forgot to say if you ever are looking for a good book, Peace Like a River is really great and part of it takes place in the badlands.
